John has extensive experience in providing tax planning, accounting and business advisory services to owner-managed companies in the manufacturing, real estate, construction, auto dealer and service industries. John’s experience also includes assisting numerous clients in completing significant mergers, acquisitions and reorganization transactions during his career. Prior to joining PAND in 1996, John worked for 10 years with the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche where he specialized in income tax advisory and compliance services.
John is active in the Edmonton community having served as Director of the Kidsport Society of Alberta and Chairman of the finance committee of the Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs of Edmonton. John has always been very involved in sports, particularly hockey. Prior to becoming a Chartered Accountant, John had a successful hockey career playing three seasons with the University of Alberta Golden Bears, representing Canada in the 1980 Winter Olympics and briefly playing professionally in Switzerland. Following his playing career, John also spent a number of years coaching with the Golden Bears and the AJHL’s Fort Saskatchewan Traders.
