Our advisory services range from private equity firms, public companies to privately-owned businesses. Our services to these clients include business valuation, due diligence, succession planning and tax structuring.
As our client base is comprised primarily of mid to large-sized owner managed enterprises, we are continuously providing assistance on valuation matters, succession & estate planning issues and tax-efficient exit strategies.
Our Business & Financial Advisory Services team works closely with our Tax group on all projects to ensure that our advice and transaction structuring provides for maximum tax efficiency and that all income tax compliance matters are appropriately addressed.
Trevor has extensive experience providing financial, tax and transaction advisory services to private and publicly-traded companies in a wide variety of industries. Trevor joined PAND in September 2010 where he leads our Financial Advisory Services practice. In this role, Trevor focuses on assisting mid-market private companies with business valuations, mergers and acquisitions, ownership transitions, estate and succession planning, strategic business planning, financing and corporate reorganizations. In addition, Trevor works closely with private equity firms, financiers and legal advisors on transactions, reorganizations and litigation matters. Prior to joining PAND, Trevor had 12 years of experience working with two international accounting firms.
Trevor enjoys the opportunity to get involved in the community and work with kids. Trevor is currently a Board Member with Kidsport Edmonton, a not for profit organization that funds sports registration fees for underprivileged children. From 2008 to 2010, Trevor served as a committee member with the Cumberland Oxford Community League responsible for constructing a new playground in Hudson Park in Northwest Edmonton. In addition, Trevor has been actively involved in coaching minor hockey.
Bruce has extensive experience in providing audit, accounting and business advisory services to large family-owned enterprises, private equity-backed organizations and publicly traded entities. In recent years, he has led several due diligence teams assisting clients with strategic business acquisitions. Prior to founding the Firm in 1995, Bruce was a partner with the international accounting firm of Deloitte, where he served as director for 15 years, served on three of the firms strategic planning committees and chaired the Canadian firms Consumer Products Committee.
As a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta, Bruce has sat on both the Canadian Institute’s Auditing Standards Committee and the Provincial institute’s committee dealing with financial reporting for Credit Unions. He is also very involved in the Edmonton community, having chaired the professional section of the United Way Collection Campaign, the Finance Committee of OLPH Catholic Parish, the Klondike Chuckwagon Derby Committee and the fundraising committee for an Alberta cabinet minister. Bruce currently is a Director of the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation and is a trustee for the Franciscan Friars of Western Canada.
Karen has significant experience serving a variety of clients including large family-owned businesses, public companies, small and medium sized owner-managed enterprises and professionals. Karen’s extensive experience includes providing audit, accounting and related business advisory services to clients in the agriculture, real estate, auto dealer, manufacturing and oilfield services industries.
Allan has extensive experience providing assurance and advisory services to medium and large sized owner-managed businesses. Allan’s clients include family and employee-owned companies operating in the agriculture, retail grocery, auto dealer, manufacturing, distribution, recruitment and oilfield services industries. Allan also has broad experience assisting clients with mergers and acquisitions, divestiture transactions, financing arrangements and internal control reviews. Prior to joining PAND in 1998, Allan was with the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche for five years and operated his own consulting practice for two years.
Allan is a graduate of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology where he obtained his Business Administration Diploma in Accounting in 1992. Prior to attending NAIT, Allan had several years of working experience in the automotive and retail sectors.
Blair has significant experience providing assurance and business advisory services to medium and large sized private companies, some of which are family owned. Blair’s clients include privately owned and private equity-backed organizations operating in the oilfield services, construction, sports and entertainment, retail, manufacturing, tourism, heavy truck and auto dealership industries. Blair also has extensive experience assisting clients in expanding and optimizing their businesses through acquisitions, financing and reorganization transactions. Prior to joining PAND in 1999, Blair articled with the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young where he gained experience auditing large private and publicly-traded corporations, as well as organizations in the public sectors.
Blair was a sitting member of the Board of Directors for the Alberta Lung Association in the position of Treasurer, chairing the Finance Committee and sitting on the Executive Committee. He was a Director of a local not-for-profit organization, which connects senior citizens and junior high students in Sherwood Park. Blair also volunteers his time as a coach for Sherwood Park Minor Hockey and Sherwood Park Minor Lacrosse.
Berkley has significant experience providing accounting, audit and business advisory services to privately-owned companies and their shareholders. Since joining PAND in 1997, he has served a wide variety of clients including businesses in the agriculture, heavy truck and auto dealer, engineering services, industrial distribution, and oilfield services industries. Berkley has assisted clients with purchase and sale transactions, internal control processes, due diligence reviews, financing matters, and corporate reorganizations. Berkley has also served as an interim CFO for a private company, after a business acquisition, until the client was able to find a suitable permanent candidate.
Prior to attending the University of Alberta, Berkley played junior hockey with the Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League and college hockey in the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference.
Berkley enjoys helping coach his sons’ hockey teams throughout the winter.
Jeff has extensive experience in providing tax, accounting and business advisory services to privately-owned companies and their shareholders. Jeff leads the Firm’s tax advisory practice and specializes in estate planning, purchase and sale transactions and corporate reorganizations. He has also served as an expert witness in matrimonial disputes. Prior to joining PAND in 2009, Jeff spent 21 years with the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche, including seven years as a Tax partner in the private client advisory practice.
Jeff is active in the Edmonton community having served for four years as a governor on the Caratis Hospitals Foundation Board of Directors. He also served for three years as a campaign chair for the United Way.
